Terms of Service
The rules that govern your use of Between Guests.
01Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using Between Guests (“the Service”), operated by Between Guests (“we”, “us”, or “our”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not use the Service.
These Terms apply to all users of the Service, including hosts, cleaners, and any other visitors or users.
02Description of Service
Between Guests is a cleaning management platform that helps short-term rental hosts coordinate turnover cleanings with their cleaners. The Service includes calendar synchronisation, cleaning scheduling, checklists, photo verification, payment tracking, and notifications.
Between Guests is not a cleaning company. We do not employ cleaners, perform cleaning services, or guarantee the quality of any cleaning. We provide a platform that facilitates coordination between hosts and their independently engaged cleaners.
03Account Registration and Eligibility
To use the Service, you must create an account. You must be at least 18 years of age. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and to keep your account information up to date.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately at legal@betweenguests.com if you suspect unauthorised access.
04User Responsibilities
For Hosts
- Provide accurate property information and calendar data
- Maintain valid and up-to-date calendar links for synchronisation
- Compensate cleaners as agreed between you and your cleaner
- Use the Service in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations
For Cleaners
- Complete assigned cleanings in accordance with provided checklists
- Upload accurate photo verification when required
- Communicate availability and any issues promptly through the platform
All Users
- Do not misuse the Service or attempt to access it through unauthorised means
- Do not use the Service for any unlawful purpose
- Do not interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure
- Do not upload malicious content, viruses, or harmful code
05Subscription and Payments
Between Guests offers a Free plan (1–2 listings) and a Plus plan ($19/month, up to 5 listings). Cleaners always join free on any plan.
Paid subscriptions are processed through Stripe, our payment processor. By subscribing to a paid plan, you agree to Stripe's terms of service. Between Guests does not store your payment card details.
Subscriptions renew automatically. You may cancel at any time from your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
All subscription fees are non-refundable. When you cancel your subscription, you retain access to paid features until the end of your current billing period. No refunds or credits will be issued for partial billing periods, downgrade to the Free plan, or unused time remaining in a billing period.
If you believe you have been charged in error (for example, a duplicate charge or a charge after cancellation), contact us at legal@betweenguests.com within 30 days of the charge. Verified billing errors will be corrected.
06Intellectual Property
The Service, including its design, code, features, and branding, is owned by Between Guests and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works of the Service without our written permission.
07User Content
You retain ownership of content you upload to the Service, including property photos, cleaning photos, checklists, and notes (“User Content”).
By uploading User Content, you grant Between Guests a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to use, store, and display that content solely for the purpose of operating and providing the Service. This licence ends when you delete the content or your account.
08Third-Party Integrations
The Service integrates with third-party platforms, including iCal calendar feeds (e.g., Airbnb, VRBO), Stripe for payments, and email delivery services for notifications.
We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or functionality of third-party services. Calendar synchronisation depends on your booking platform providing a valid iCal feed. Disruptions to third-party services may affect the functionality of Between Guests.
09Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Between Guests shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, or business opportunities, arising from your use of the Service.
Between Guests is not liable for the quality, timeliness, or outcome of any cleaning performed by cleaners coordinated through the platform. Disputes between hosts and cleaners are between those parties. We encourage resolution through direct communication.
Our total liability for any claim arising from or related to the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid to us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or $100 CAD, whichever is greater.
10Disclaimers
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure. We do not warrant the accuracy of calendar synchronisation or notification delivery.
11Termination and Account Deletion
You may close your account at any time from your account settings. We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms or engage in conduct that is harmful to other users or the Service.
Upon account deletion, we will remove your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required by law to retain it. See our Privacy Policy for details on data retention.
12Dispute Resolution
If a dispute arises from these Terms or the Service, you agree to first attempt resolution through good-faith negotiation by contacting us at legal@betweenguests.com. If the dispute cannot be resolved within 30 days, either party may pursue resolution through the courts of British Columbia, Canada.
13Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
14Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or through the Service at least 30 days before the changes take effect. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
